Specialized Racing – 2013 UCI XC World Championships

Uploaded by specialized411. Specialized Racing headed to South Africa for the 2013 UCI Cross-Country (XC) World Championships for a shot at the coveted rainbow jersey. The men’s and women’s races were somewhat defined by crashes on the rather technical course. Current Olympic gold medalist and 2011 world champion, Jaroslav Kulhavy, posted the team’s best result, finding the podium in 5th place.

With events taking place in the home country of the fallen Burry Stander, the mood was both somber and celebratory. The racing community paid their respects and raised a memorial to the former U-23 world champion who was killed earlier this year in a training accident. Godspeed, Burry. We will forever ride for you.
